Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and organized Medical Receptionist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience working in a medical or dental office setting and possess knowledge of HIPAA regulations. As a Medical Receptionist, you will be responsible for providing excellent customer service to patients, managing phone systems, scheduling appointments, and maintaining medical records.
Duties:
- Greet patients and visitors in a professional and friendly manner
- Answer phone calls and direct them to the appropriate department or staff member
- Schedule appointments for patients and ensure accurate documentation of all appointments
- Verify patient insurance information and collect necessary co-pays or payments
- Maintain patient records, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality
- Assist with medical scheduling and coordination of patient care
- Handle patient inquiries, provide information, and address concerns or complaints
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure smooth patient flow and efficient operations
- Perform general administrative tasks such as filing, faxing, and data entry
Experience:
- Previous experience working in a medical or dental office setting is preferred
- Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and guidelines
- Proficiency in using phone systems and handling multiple calls simultaneously
- Knowledge of medical terminology is a plus
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask effectively
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Attention to detail and accuracy in maintaining records
